NEW FUND FOR UNPAID INTERNSHIPS AND PROJECTS

To support students whose internship or search has been severly disrupted by COVID-19, the school has created a new fund for students who have accepted eligible unpaid internships and projects.

Who is Eligible? Continuing students in the MBA or Master of Finance program at MIT Sloan (MBA 2021, MBA/HKS 2021/2022, MFin Feb 2021).

Does my internship qualify? Three types of internships/projects qualify:

  1. Unpaid Corporate/Startup Internships: You have accepted a position with a company or startup and your role is only available as an unpaid internship.
  2. Unpaid MIT-Affiliate Startup Internships: You applied for an unpaid startup internship through these postings on Orbit and accepted an unpaid internship offer.
  3. Unpaid Faculty Projects: You applied for and accepted a project through the Faculty Project Survey.

How do I apply? Once you have accepted an offer for an eligible internship or project, you may apply for support. Submit your application after accepting your offer, and no later than June 8, 2020.

APPLICATION FOR FUNDING

How much will I receive? The fund will be divided equally among approved applicants. The maximum amount of funding is $6,500 for the summer; please note that a larger number of accepted applicants will reduce the amount of funding for each applicant. We ask that you only apply if you have no other source of funds.  Please note that the Office of Graduate Education (OGE) is unable to provide funding for cancelled internships.
