Planning Your Professional Departure from a FAANG

Two years ago, I left the predictable (and brilliant) world of Apple to join a startup. Since that time, a number of friends, colleagues, and people from my extended networks have inquired about why and how I made the transition in order to inform their own professional shifts. After all, the decision to leave what many people refer to as “the mothership” is not always an easy one.

As an MIT affiliate creatively summarized, “we are curious about how you get off onto a dirt road after having driven for years on the highway.”

Another inquiry on the topic last week, now encourages me to put my process down on paper.
