Recruiter’s Update: October 2020

This year has brought many challenges and changes to the recruiting world. We have recently learned that three employers have made accelerated offers to students, requesting decisions in advance of the deadlines agreed to in our Recruiting Policies.

We believe that it is in the best interest of both our students and employer partners for candidates to have adequate time and information to make thoughtful and informed decisions about employment offers. Our hope is that employers will honor the timelines in our Recruiting Policies. Our student-centered policies ensure that any employer not honoring the offer acceptance deadlines assumes any risk that a student may reconsider their decision, and that any student who accepts an offer under these circumstances will continue to be eligible to receive all benefits and resources of the CDO.  Employers should note that students who accept an offer under our normal timelines will potentially face a penalty if they elect to reconsider their decision and back out of their accepted offer.

We encourage employers whose recruiting processes might conflict with our Recruiting Policies to reach out to me or another member of the Employer Relations & Recruiting team to discuss options.
