A Deep Dive into Healthcare Entrepreneurship

MIT Sandbox is launching an exciting, new IAP program focused on healthcare entrepreneurship! MIT DHIVE IAP 2022 invites undergraduate and graduate students to gain deep knowledge and insight into one of three healthcare issues as they explore entrepreneurial solutions to associated challenges and needs. Learn from experts in the field, engage in brainstorming and ideation activities, and learn how transform ideas to viable solutions.
Students apply for and participate in a specific DHIVE track community as a paid intern or participant:
- Down Syndrome and Similar Disabilities enhance the lives of people with Down Syndrome and different intellectual abilities or challenges; offered in partnership with the MIT Deshpande Center
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) – empower patients and transform the approach to maintenance of chronic diseases; offered in partnership with the MIT Center for Microbiome Informatics and Therapeutics
- Long Covid and Lyme Disease – develop novel method and technologies to address the range of issues caused by infectious diseases

- Participation options:
- Paid Internship: part-time or full-time internships for MIT undergraduate and graduate students
- Participants:
- MIT graduate students who are unable to commit 15 hours per week as a paid intern are welcome to apply and participate
- Postdocs and non-MIT students are welcome to apply and participate
- Educational talks focused on the challenges and unmet needs related to the DHIVE track
- Entrepreneurship-focused workshops and mentorship
- Potential for continued support in spring MIT Sandbox
