MBArk2Boulder Sustainability & Food Leadership Conference

The 3rd MBArk2Boulder Sustainability & Food Leadership Conference will take place at the University of Colorado Boulder January 4-6, 2023, in between semesters, and is now open for registration at https://mbark.com/mbark2boulder/#. Early Bird tickets are $249 and include 5 fabulous meals. The last time we held this dynamic and fun event, in 2020 just before the pandemic, we attracted 125 participants of all ages, including students (mostly MBAs) from 34 different universities around the country, plus an amazing lineup of 32 speakers, including 13 CEOs. Please watch and email out this short promo video along with the attached poster.

While “M2B” has focused exclusively on food and ag in the past, this year we are expanding the scope to cover other industries that are also making strides in sustainable living and which therefore might be good prospects for smart young people seeking to apply their talents to the greater good. As you know, sustainability jobs aren’t easy to find and triple-bottom-line companies usually don’t recruit on campus. So we have created an event where we can bring the students to the companies and their leaders. We expect to have presentations from leaders in autonomous transportation, renewable energy, sustainable outdoor gear, and more, in addition to our usual astonishing lineup of legends and luminaries from the natural and organic foods industry. The full speaker list will be released soon, but will include the irrepressible and inspirational Stephen Ritz of the Green Bronx Machine, Seth Goldman of Honest Tea/Beyond Meat fame, the innovative Denver Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Alex Marrero, sustainability leader Darcy Shiber-Knowles of Dr. Bronner’s, organic pioneer Mark Retzloff, and many more.

MBArk Core Program at Expo West

MBArk will be bringing back our core program at the Natural Products Expo West trade show in Anaheim, CA approximately March 9-11, 2023.

Over the years we have hosted hundreds of MBA students at this amazing gathering of the most purpose-driven industry in the world, which attracts up to 80,000 people and 3,500 companies per year – almost none of whom recruit on campus. We provide rich programming, fabulous food, and curated personal introductions to the companies they care about the most. Many MBArk alumni have found summer internships and full-time jobs through MBArk, and a dozen or more have gone on to start their own food businesses.

We are still working through all the details, but please put the event on your calendars and help get the word out to students. Applications will be available on www.MBArk.com no later than the first week of December, with the priority deadline of January 29, 2023. Students interested in being put on a mailing list now should go here: https://mbark.com/mbark-on-a-journey/.

Warmly,

Joe
