Ready to Make Your Profile Visible to Employers?
You must opt-in to making your profile visible to employers. Until you opt-in, your record will not be searchable by or visible to employers. By opting in, employers will be able to connect with you and see information about you that you’ve shared, such as your work experience, career preference and resume.
To make yourself visible to employers, you can navigate to your Profile page, where you will see either that your profile is Shared or Not Shared. Click on the image in your profile to update your settings. *** 2026 Incoming student resumes will not be visible to employers until late August.

You can also change from your Account Settings:

- Hover over your name at the bottom of the left navigation bar
- Click “Account Settings”
- From the Account Settings page under the General tab, select “Yes” in the Allow Employers to contact me with job opportunities field.
On the new platform, you can share career outcomes simply by completing your Profile, which includes sections for your post-graduation plans and/or mid-program internship (if applicable to your program). Everyone should complete this section of their Profile, even if they are not seeking employment or have not yet received or accepted an offer.

Why It’s Important
MIT Sloan shares aggregate information on mid-program internships and post-graduation career outcomes. The information helps prospective students and employers and also supports the reputation of MIT Sloan’s programs by helping the school participate in international rankings. Example: MIT Sloan Ranks #1 in Financial Times.
It also helps career advisors and coaches understand who has accepted an opportunity, and who is actively seeking an offer of employment.
Choose The Right Category
Career Central organizes your employment information into three categories:
- Post-Graduation: Your first employment destination after graduation*
- Internship (Mid-Program): The summer internship you complete during your degree program
- Before School: The job or venture experience you completed immediately before the program
From your profile, click on the category you want to complete. See below for more guidance by category.
Note about using LinkedIn Merge: If you use the LinkedIn merge feature to update your Profile on Career Central, we recommend you check the results to ensure the roles/companies are appearing in the right sections of your profile.
Post-Graduation Options
Update your post-graduation plans to share your most recent status – whether you are seeking, not seeking, or pursuing your own venture.
For Sponsored Students: If an employer is financially sponsoring your education, and you intend to return to that employer in a guaranteed position (for which you need not apply), choose the ‘Sponsored Job’ option to share your post-graduation plans.
Below is the list of status options you can choose. After you click on the status you want to report, enter the details. For job offers, you can use the check box below the entry fields for any items that do not apply to your offer.

If you have multiple offers to report, select + Add Experience or Status to complete another entry.

Important Note – Graduation Tickets: Some degree programs require graduates to complete their Post-Graduation status to be eligible for graduation tickets.
Note: For those enrolled in a program that includes an internship, your ‘Post-Graduation’ section may appear as unavailable until the second year of your program.
Internship Options
Update your internship plans to share your most recent status or update – whether you are seeking, not seeking, or pursuing your own venture.
Enter the details of your internship offer or plans (use the check box below each offer detail for any items that do not apply to your offer).
Below is the list of status options you can choose.

If you have multiple offers to report, select + Add Experience or Status to complete another entry.

With the launch of Career Central, students are automatically included in the Student & Alumni Directory. This setting helps Sloanies connect with you and see information about you that you’ve shared, such as your work experience and career preferences.
You can opt-out of the Student & Alumni Directory to make your profile invisible so you are no longer searchable by classmates and alumni.
To make yourself invisible, navigate to your Profile page, where you will see either that your profile is Shared or Not Shared (see image below). Click on the Shared or Not Shared button in your profile to review and update your settings. On the screen that appears next, find the Connections heading and click Edit to say no to: “I want to be included in the Student & Alumni Directory.”

2 Ways to Designate Your Primary Resume
1) If you are uploading a new document to be your Primary Resume, select the check box toward the bottom left of the Add New Resume window.

This will move the gold star to the right of the resume you selected, designating this as your new Primary Resume.
