We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Product Finance team in the FP&A organization as Databricks experiences growth at scale. You will report to the Director of Product Finance and will be a key finance partner to the R&D organization.
As a finance professional who has experienced hyper-growth, you will help the business to be successful and achieve their goals, grounded in financial reality and modeling and analysis. You will help improve our analysis, planning, and reporting of all R&D spend. You will help develop KPIs and build reporting that will help the R&D organization make and manage investments. You will be responsible for implementing Anaplan solutions across the organization to help with forecasting and reporting of key metrics. You will design and implement models to forecast, plan, and budget for multiple type of R&D expenses
The impact you will have:
- Improve financial processes and implement system improvements to support hyper-growth at scale
- Work and build relationships with partners across the R&D organization, finance and accounting teams to provide improved insights
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and identify areas of potential risk and opportunity
- Support the month end and quarter end close processes by being end-to-end finance owner of R&D Spend
- Support the tracking, analysis and reporting on variances to budgets and forecasts for monthly and quarterly reporting
- Improve forecast accuracy and develop recommendations based upon an understanding of Databricks’ business model
- Design, develop and monitor data flows and data integration between internal business applications and Anaplan to ensure data is timely and accurate
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or comparable quantitative field
- 2-5 years of experience with financial modeling and minimum 1 year dedicated Anaplan or other financial systems experience required
- Experience in FP&A and history of experience working with business teams on expense and headcount management
- Expert in Excel and Google Sheets; can maintain complex spreadsheets, comfortable with different modeling techniques and shortcuts
- Experience with analytics and reporting tools
- Understanding of GAAP accounting and non-GAAP financial metrics
- Experience in managing opex from company expenses to vendor expenses and in PO creation/ approval process
- Experience with SQL is a major plus
- Experience with systems such as Anaplan, Netsuite, Salesforce.com, Coupa and Workday
