The spring semester offers a range of events and programs to meet you wherever you are on your career journey. Whether you are seeking Highway, Dirt Road or Jungle opportunities, we are here to support you. For more details, see the full list below. Click on the event name to see the program details:

  • Job Search Strategy Groups
Beginning in January and every other week throughout the semester

How’s your job search going? Are you feeling…

      • Not sure if you’re on track?
      • Unsure of how to get started?
      • Like you need some accountability?

Join a Job Search Strategy Group (JSSG)!

Starting in mid-January, we’ll kick off new JSSGs. Each JSSG will have up to 8 Sloanies and a CDO Advisor. Groups will meet every other week to help you troubleshoot job search challenges and hold each other accountable for meeting deadlines. These sessions will help you create structure for your dirt road or jungle job search. The data is clear: Sloanies who participated in JSSGs during Summer 2020 found their target roles faster than those who went through the job search process alone.

There are JSSGs for different recruiting paths to MBA-level opportunities. We call these Highway / Dirt Road / Jungle. What do we mean by that?
      Highway:
MBA-level jobs with a structured recruiting process, often conducted on-campus. This includes, but is not limited to, Consulting, Investment Banking and Leadership Development Programs.
      Dirt Road:
Opportunities within industries whose recruiting processes for MBAs are less defined, requiring more networking and individual outreach. This includes opportunities in Private Equity, Venture Capital, Media/Entertainment and Sports.
      Jungle:
Roles for individuals starting a new venture or pursuing positions with start-ups or early-stage ventures.

Are you looking for opportunities with a less defined recruiting process? Choose the Dirt Road JSSG. Focused on joining an early-stage start up? Choose the Jungle JSSG. Regardless of your path, we look forward to working with you!

This is a challenging market for all job seekers, but especially those who are navigating the U.S. Immigration system as part of their search. Our two part series for international Sloanies will help you you keep up-to-date on immigration requirements.

Part I of the series (February 24, 1-2pm): an immigration attorney will present on the current state of immigration regulations and things to keep in mind during your job search. We will collect questions in advance and also offer Q&A at the end of the presentation.
Part II of the series (March 2, 1-2pm): join us for a panel with 2Ys and recent alums. Learn how they successfully navigated the immigration process and hear what advice they have for you.
