Company Websites

Looking for a fast way to check for opportunities on company websites?

Many of the CDO’s Industry + Career Path pages have lists of companies that have hired Sloanies with direct links to their job boards. Check out your industries of interest through the home navigation menu or the links below.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a top platform used by companies and organizations to promote opportunities. Use it to search for full-time and summer positions, as well as to find leads generated from your network. Note: You can apply through LinkedIn or visit the company’s website to apply for positions.

How to Search for Jobs

  1. From the LinkedIn Jobs Tab, select Preferences on the right-hand menu bar to set up job preferences and alerts.
Note: If you do not have a profile set up, it is recommended that you do this first, so the platform can recommend relevant jobs based on your experience.
  2. Explore jobs using the search bar at the top to ‘describe the job you want’ (a beta feature)

Take It to the Next Level

  1. Use VMock Aspire to Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile. This tool provides recommendations on how to improve your profile, offers skills-based job functions based on your profile, and recommends relevant SEO keywords to help your profile stand out to recruiters.
  2. Visit company pages and click +Follow for the companies that you are interested in – this will help you stay on top of company news and often new opportunities. Use the Posts and Jobs tabs to see announcements and opportunities. Click on People to explore any potential connections. It may be helpful to review their profiles and experience to learn about their role and the skill set that got them the job.

External Specialty Job Sites by Industry

These websites have featured roles relevant for MIT Sloan master’s-degree candidates. As with any external job site, be cautious about sharing personal information and do research to confirm you are working with a legitimate representative of the company. The CDO has not vetted opportunities listed on these sites, so use your best judgement and reach out to your career advisor or coach if you have questions about an opportunity. You can also use these external job sites to identify roles of interest, then find those roles on the actual hiring company’s website and apply there.

Remote Job Sites and Gig Work Sites

These websites specialize in remote opportunities and gig work (typically part-time or project-based work). As with any external job site, be cautious about sharing personal information and do research to confirm you are working with a legitimate representative of the company. The CDO has not vetted opportunities listed on these sites, so use your best judgement and reach out to your career advisor or coach if you have questions about an opportunity.

Remote Work

Many job sites now offer the ability to filter for remote or hybrid opportunities – but if you are not finding what you need there, the sites below specialize in remote opportunities. Note: these sites cater to a larger audience, so you may need to be more specific in your search terms to find master’s-level roles.

Gig Work

If you are looking for part-time, free-lance, or short-term opportunities, these are popular sites. Note: International students should work with MIT’s International Students Office (ISO) to confirm any work they are pursuing conforms to U.S. immigration regulations.
