McKinsey: Deadline Dates for Advanced Professional Degree Roles

Thank you for your interest in McKinsey! Included below are some FAQs that may be helpful for prospective applicants.

Where can I find the full-time Associate application? You can find the Associate application here.

When is the deadline to apply for the full-time Associate role? The deadline to apply is 11:59pm local time on Thursday, June 15th.

When do interviews take place? Interviews are scheduled to take place from mid-July through early September, depending on selected office location.

What are the eligibility requirements? Advanced Professional Degree (APD) represents candidates who are postdocs or working toward the following degrees with a graduation date in 2024: PhD, MD (including medical interns, residents and fellows), JD, PharmD, Nursing, and non-MBA Masters. Non-MBA Master candidates must have at least four years in between the completion of their undergraduate degree and graduate degree to be qualified as having an APD.

What if I do not meet the eligibility requirements? If you are pursuing a Master’s degree (non-MBA) and have less than four years of work experience between your undergraduate and graduate degrees, you would qualify for our Business Analyst position. If you are graduating in 2023, you can apply as an experienced professional. We encourage you to review all current openings on our Careers Site.

What if I am interested in an internship role? If you are interested in a summer internship, please check back in September for more information on when and how to apply.

How do I choose an office location? Here you will find a list of our US offices. It is best to choose your office preferences based on what city you would like to live in and where you have a support system. If you are interested in an Associate role in an international office, the deadline and job requisition is the same. After your application is submitted, the recruiter for your location of interest will screen your resume.

Is a cover letter required? A cover letter is not required to apply.

What can I expect once I apply?  If you are invited to interview, we will provide additional interview preparation resources covering the PEI and Case. Applications are not reviewed on a rolling basis, and all resumes will be reviewed after the deadline.

How do I prepare for my interview? Prior to submitting your application, we suggest you take a look at our resume workshop (link) as well as our application tips. We also have several practice cases available on our website. I encourage you to view them here along with our casing/PEI overview.
